Welcome to BCS HCI 2025!
This year, Cardiff University are hosting the British Computer Society’s Special Interest Group in Human Computer Interaction Conference (BCS HCI 2025), taking place in-person from the 8th to the 11th of November 2025.
The conference embraces and celebrates the broad nature of HCI, and seeks to grow and nurture the community across the UK and beyond. Our theme this year is HCI4AI – Human Centred Approaches and their Impact on AI system design, application, and evaluation.
Recent years have seen an explosion in deep learning and related methods advancing the capabilities of artificial intelligent systems, all of which have permeated the public zeitgeist and made an impression on industries across the world. We adopt a human-centred perspective on these technologies, challenging ourselves and the community to consider the human factors which make these technologies usable and attractive and drive forward adoption.
We invite members of the community to submit work which shares our perspective and challenges the community to consider new interface designs, systems, and social and society-level factors, including ethical deployment of these rapidly advancing technologies.
We wish you all a warm croeso (welcome in Welsh) to Cardiff in November!
