We invite researchers, practitioners, and academics to submit original full research papers. This track provides an opportunity for authors to present comprehensive studies, groundbreaking research, and significant developments in the field of HCI.

The conference theme this year is HCI4AI – Human Centred Approaches and their Impact on AI system design, application, and evaluation. We welcome submissions on a wide range of topics as listed on the main programme page.

Call

The Futures track offers a unique platform to envision the future of a specific area, discipline, or topic. As researchers, we strive to deepen knowledge, make meaningful contributions to society, and uncover the intricate workings of the world. This track invites authors to submit forward-looking perspectives grounded in their expertise and existing scholarship. These may offer predictions, or flesh out possibilities through speculative design, design fiction or visions of a future in a variety of formats. We welcome submissions that are thought-provoking and discussion-oriented, possibly even opinion-driven, as long as they are well justified. Submissions should embrace a holistic approach, addressing aspects such as the ethical and legal dimensions of the topic, potential benefits and challenges, and alternative pathways the future might take. The aim is to spark curiosity, inspire reflection, guide attention to critical aspects of the chosen subject area, and support new imaginaries. Contributions to this track may highlight desired trajectories, propose necessary adjustments to predicted outcomes, or explore a variety of possible futures.

Call

We invite members of the community to host workshops, masterclasses, or panels (WorkMaP) at BCS HCI 2025.

• Workshops should offer engaging forums for discussing topics of interest and/or particular emerging areas of research around which research groups are forming.
• Masterclasses are lab based tutorials where a member of the community will demonstrate state-of-the-art methodologies, analysis procedures, and or dissemination of scientific research that may benefit conference attendees
• Panels are topic centred Q&A sessions structured by a host who will introduce the panel members, invite them to speak for 5 minutes on the chosen topic, before inviting questions from members of the audience.

As Workshops, Masterclasses, and Panels Chairs, we will create a carefully curated list of workshops that reflects the needs and desires of the community. Please note that we might propose modifications and augmentations, such as suggesting that workshops be combined where appropriate.
